NOTE: These 2021 classes have all sold out. If new seats open we will make an announcement. We’re pleased to announce another cooperative effort between ourselves here at Redline Guiding and Rockhopper Races LLC. For those who don’t know Rockhopper Races, they’re the ones bringing professionally-organized mountain racing to the White Mountain National Forest. The owner, Kristina Folcik, has guided for us and remains a friend. […]
The problems with litter have been particularly bad this year for some reason. Local rumor has it drunk day-trippers are leaving behind a bad impression right along with their garbage — refuse ranging from feces to painted bricks. It’s unacceptable. To anyone who hikes or appreciates the forests and mountains, not leaving it a mess is a no-brainer. No littering is obvious. One should leave no […]
We know the best way to give back is to roll up your sleeves and actually do it. Thanks to all so-willing. Our Third Annual Trails Day was a success, though not without its challenges. Covid-19, for example, forced a significant delay. Time was needed for people to learn how to deal with this thing. Finally, though, with safety pushed way out in front, we got […]
We’re Doing It Again — Giving Back to the Trails! We are being optimistic, we are making plans, though bear in mind we decided on a much later date this year for our Third Annual Trails Day. We are hoping that by then, we will all gleefully work together, side-by-side on a White Mountains’ trail. So, without further ado, we hope you will join us yet […]
Outdoor recreation organizations are teaming up with the Mt Washington Valley Chamber of Commerce to bring you the very first White Mountain Outdoor Fest — June 4th, 5th, 6th, and 7th, 2020. There will be mountain biking, trail running, a 5k run/walk, road biking, kayaking, hiking with Redline Guiding, stewardship, clinics, demonstrations, music, food, and probably more, all available at the first ever White Mountain Outdoor […]
UPDATE: Due to CoVid-19, we will be cancelling our final trips. Our recent Starlight Snowshoe hike was such a success, we decided to offer six (6) more dates… Join us for a fun time on one or more of six nighttime snowshoe hikes planned for this winter. These will not be high intensity, or high speed hikes. These will be more socially-oriented. We will, in fact, […]
SOLD OUT — SOLD OUT — SOLD OUT — SOLD OUT Our last team effort went so well, we decided to do it again for 2020 — two times! We’re pleased to announce another cooperative effort between ourselves here at Redline Guiding and Rockhopper Races LLC. Again, for those who don’t know them, they’re the ones bringing professionally-organized mountain racing to the White Mountain National Forest. […]
On January 19th, 2020 and on January 26th, 2020, we are offering a women’s only full day Winter Skills-inspired educational course specifically geared to women. Learn what to bring, what to pack, about gear management, and of course self care. This is a comprehensive course that will go above and beyond our normal winter skills course venturing into the area of a winter-specific hiking introduction. To […]
On November 30th and December 1st, 2019, we are offering a women’s only overnight Camp Craft-inspired Backpacking event providing detailed instruction to participants on how to successfully camp out in the winter months while staying reasonably comfortable. Backpacking is not about suffering. Quite the contrary, actually. Even in winter. But why, you might ask. Well, due to road closures limiting access to certain parts of the […]
Get Some: Climb Mt Baker via the Easton Glacier with Redline Guiding Many of our guests have learned glacier and mountaineering skills with us over the years, but aside from leading them on non-technical hiking and semi-technical mountaineering routes on Mt Washington, the Northern Presidentials, Kahtadin, and other similar locations, we haven’t as of yet offered an outlet to put those skills to further use here […]

Backpacking is not about suffering. Quite the contrary, actually. Even in winter. But why, you might ask. Well, due to road closures limiting access to certain parts of the National Forest in […]
