Mo’ Confidence Mo’riah

A returning guest reached out to request a guide for one of the 4000-footers she has remaining. At first we considered one of the easier ones, but on second thought it was decided to ramp that up a little to create a teachable moment, so to speak, with the objective of challenge being the summit and with an underwritten objective of confidence building. The mountain chosen was Mt Moriah. On lead for this hike is our guest’s now-favorite Redline Guide Rhonda Willette. We’ll let her fill in some of the details, and show you some photos…

We chose Mount Moriah, mostly because the Carter–Moriah Trail has those steep ledges she’s not comfortable with, and she felt better tackling them with a guide. The trail gave us a great mix of smooth woods walking, gentle forest sections, rocky bits, open ledges, spectacular views, and even ripe wild blueberries along the way. We focused on pacing, slowing down and taking each section one at a time. And as we climbed, her confidence grew and it was obvious. She loved everything about the day and left feeling really good about it. —Rhonda

Awesome impression made, Rhonda, and to our guest, well done and thank you for adventuring with Redline Guiding!
