A guest came to us looking to a half- or full-day hike. As we know it this fellow New Hampshirite is just conditioning and has loose plans to hike random stuff in the future as she gets stronger and builds confidence. But right now that confidence is a work in progress, though with more successful and beautiful days like this one on Mt Pemigewasset (52WAV) led by Redline Guide Rhonda Willette, she’ll be out there tearing up mountains and conquering lists in no time. In the meantime, here’s Rhonda’s summary and a few photos of the day.
We took full advantage of a lovely late October day with a hike up the Mount Pemigewasset Trail. After reaching the summit, we enjoyed a long, relaxing break while taking in the views and the beautiful autumn conditions.
For our descent, we followed the Indian Head Trail, which parallels Hansen Brook for much of the way. The soothing sounds of the flowing water, along with the many small waterfalls and cascades along the brook, made for a particularly enjoyable and scenic finish to the day.
A wonderful day on the trails with great weather and rewarding views. —Rhonda
