A father and son came to us hoping to hike a couple of somethings, asking “Claude” for advice along the way. Nothing was specified but the dad wanted his son to be introduced to a deeper level of nature and, with that said, left the planning to us. Doing said planning was Redline Guide Rhonda Willette. For the first of their two days with us, she selected the Ethan Pond Trail (AT) and its native trout pond as the destination.
Having gotten to know the pair on day one, and as Rhonda was uniquely informed as to what they might enjoy, selected Iron Mountain — to include the famed ledges, the cool iron mine, the amazing views starting with those seen from the trailhead, and the profound and notable silence in the woods after the summit. It was a fine choice and our father-son team loved it. Some photos from both days follow.
