The Mahoosuc Traverse

A runner of Ultras came to us looking for a companion on a one-day Mahoosuc Traverse. This ask is understandable. The ~32 mile Mahoosuc Traverse represents some of the toughest terrain in the White Mountain National Forest of Maine and New Hampshire. The muddy sections alone demand attention as do the via ferrata bits and of course there’s the notorious “Mahoosuc Notch.” Additionally, if it’s not challenging enough, water sources were drier than expected requiring some concern and some rationing. The team, led by Redline Guide Chase Hall, took around 17-18 hours out of the predicted 20 hours to get it done. Hiking dark-to-dark, they made this north-to-south adventure happen. Here are some photos Chase grabbed along the way…

Incredible journey, Chase, and to our guest, amazing work. Thank you for reaching out to Redline Guiding!
