The title of this post, “Best Day Ever,” was an observation shared with us by our guest about her recent Franconia Ridge Traverse. She noted having a “spectacular day in the mountains” during which she faced some of her fears in a safe and controlled manner. For her this was an accomplishment to be proud of. In her feedback she offered very kind words about us as a company and about her Redline Guide Debra McCown. Here are some of her remarks, followed by comment from Debra along with some telling photos:
Debra is truly a blessing — she could see when I was scared and was discreetly managed to stand in the way of the views that were causing me panic. I was able to rise up and continue. When my pole snapped on way down from Lafayette, she distracted me so I didn’t stay stuck in the moment. While these may not seem like a lot, the little things matter and Debra was professional, thoughtful, and so much fun! —Guest
Debra also made some remarks about her observations on this tour:
This guest, who gets a little nervous around heights and exposure, came to tackle a big goal: Hike Lincoln and Lafayette, which are on the long and narrow Franconia Ridge. We had good weather with all the views, just enough wind to feel the character of the ridge, and met lots of friendly people. Oh, and there was a dinosaur. It was great to see her accomplish her goal, and she said she had the best day ever! —Debra
