Owls Head Now!

Area hikers were informed that come June first the beloved Lincoln Woods Trail was going to close for five to six months for maintenance. This news forced a lot of people, particularly those working on their 48 4000-footers, to re-think their plans. Some who were planning to put off getting Owls Head until some undetermined future date decided they needed to do it now! Same for those doing Z-Bonds traverses and Pemi Loopers. Thankfully the Forest Service powers-that-be delayed the start of the work which gave hikers an additional 15 days to tie up their loose ends, so to speak. This was just the motivation needed for one such hiker. She wanted to get Owls Head out of the way as she hoped to finish this year and didn’t (as most don’t) want Owls Head to be her late season finisher. At the urging of a friend, she called us hoping for some assistance. We were happy to help and asked Redline Guide Chase Hall to make it so. Chase’s words and pictures follow

My guest and I hiked Owls Head today. She grabbed her 11th summit in her 48 adventure. We enjoyed a nice breeze on the Owls Head slide and enjoyed our time on the summit (before the bugs started to ruin the vibe). We left, enjoying the awesome day and good ground conditions in the Pemi Wilderness. Awesome day! —Chase

Awesome lead, Chase, and to our guest (and her referrer), thank you for choosing Redline Guiding!
