Another person working on their 48 came to us looking for a companion/guide, and we were happy to help. As many people have come to realize, hiring a guide offers a host of advantages, not just a competent companion, but so much more. On point for this particular trip — which was to bag the summit of Mt Jefferson for #45/48 — was Redline Guide Chase Hall. The weather for this trip was a factor, but Chase made all the right choices landing a stellar day for the two of them. Stay tuned as Adams, Madison, and Owls Head remain. In the meantime, check out Chase’s summary and photos of the day.
What a fun day to hike Mt. Jefferson, the forecast was calling for early morning thunderstorms, high winds, and clouds but with the early start — we started at 6am this morning — we beat the rain until the last 3/10th, coming down, heading back to our cars. The wind had scattered the clouds and actually lent us some awesome albeit sporadic views from the summit. The trail wasn’t soaked, the rocks were grippy, and this offered safe passage to my guest who was there to capture his 45th 4000-footer with Mt Jefferson. What an awesome day to be had with a really awesome guest. Congratulations for grabbing your 45th peak! —Chase
