Snowshoeing is possible as long as there is snow so when a guest visiting from the UK asked if she could have a day of snowshoeing, we said yes — though we added the disclaimer that a fair amount of hiking would be needed to get there. Redline Guide Chase Hall made the day an exciting one taking on the Mt Washington summit by way of the Eastern Snow Fields. He grabbed a bunch of photos of their amazing day. You can find those below the commentary Chase offered, first.
Mt Washington via Eastern Snow Fields: What a fun way to hike up mt Washington. You snowshoe next to skiers who are skiing the Eastern Snow Fields. I had so much fun with my guest who was visiting New Hampshire from the United Kingdom. She wanted to do something fun and reached out after she found us on Google, which is awesome because at Redline Guiding we do awesome things. She never snowshoed in her life and today was her first time ever wearing snowshoes. It was an absolute pleasure to see this ultra runner just pick up walking in snowshoes like it was her 100th time. She was a naturally athletic person who loves to try new things. Our guest now wants to pick up backcountry skiing. Hiking in the snow fields above 5000 feet was an experience that I want to do again. Thanks to our guest for making this possible. I can’t wait to see what happens next. —Chase
