The Final Day…
They awoke to a fine third and final day. They enjoyed another family style breakfast, packed, then made their way leisurely down the mountain via the Valley Way Trail deciding at some point to call quits on their rocky relationships with the rocks up there. They looked back on it all both literally and figuratively as they dropped down into the lengthening evergreens. Quickly the alpine zone, the rocky talus, and the exposed views disappeared from view behind them, but the mind’s eye held fast to these scenes. Memories to last a lifetime are made in the Presidential Range, and these they get to keep.
They decide against Madison and follow the trail out.
The teams makes its descent.
