Great Start

The title of this post, Great Start, applies to both guest and guide in this situation. For our guest, a young man getting into climbing and mountaineering — a fellow working on his Terrifying 25 list — this was a guided entry on that path (through Huntington Ravine on this day) and we should see him come back in the future as he ups his game. Another great start was with a brand new Redline Guide, Cash Mullen. To be clear, Cash is technically well qualified, but he just started with us as a guide. With us he will be mostly into the three seasons: fall, winter, and spring. What follows is a brief summary from Cash along with a few photos.

Spending time on the eastern side of Mt Washington always has its charm. However, getting to experience its variable terrain, dynamic climate, and unique community, all in one outing makes it a truly memorable day.

With a guest with a specific taste for technical movement and rock scrambling, the Huntington Ravine Trail stood as the perfect objective. First came The Fan, then The Slabs, followed by The Ledges, and finally The Chimney to wrap it up. This trip ultimately became a wonderful way to experience more complex and unfamiliar terrain in a safe manner whilst still having that big mountain feeling! —Cash

Great lead, Cash, and to our guest, great climb. Thank you for learning and adventuring with Redline Guiding!
