A business organization having a retreat came to us looking for a guide to lead a few staff and members of their group. The general idea was that after the members had a weekend of empowerment and learning, we were to provide some down time. Not in the physical sense, but in the psychological, emotional one. And a short hike would set that particular stage perfectly. This would give the members time to process all they took on board. To reflect. No phones, no hum of the city, no crazy distractions, no beeping of car horns, just a fun hike, some fresh air, some good conversation, and a little exercise. Leading the group was Redline Guide Mike Cherim, and the objective was a hike in to the amazing East Pond from the Tripoli Road end of that trail. For their wants and needs, and based on their location, this was a perfect choice. Everyone loved the pond as we rested on its shore contemplating the basics: how deep the pond was, whether there were trout in it, deciding if the water was more blue or more green. Admiring the salamanders. Ahhh.
