We had a couple of tours going yesterday and both had in common phenomenal conditions and wonderful weather. At some point nature’s going to throw the switch and winters going to smack us happy, but until then, we’re out to enjoy the day that is. Life’s short so there’s no sense in wishing it away as we reach for the next big thing.
This hike was for with a guest who hikes with us a lot, specifically with Redline Guide Chase Hall. No doubt if you’re not new around here, you’ll recall a post or three where we mention the fellow working on his GRID (you, those 4ks every month). Here’s Chase’s summary of today’s trip.
Wildcat A-D: Back to basics, ‘something small’ was the theme of the hike. Wildcat A and D were today’s summits of the day. Both myself and our guest were extremely happy with the outcome of the day. The conditions were beyond perfect. You can feel the mountains are preparing themselves for winter. The ground is almost frozen and ready for snow, but not on this hike. The trails were very dry and no traction was needed. The trees were protecting us from the wind so the pace between each summit was relaxed. It was an awesome day. We even saw a rainbow as we were coming down the ski slopes. It was a very good hike — one that I will remember for long time. —Chase
