A guest reached out to us after finding us online and saw that we were well-reviewed. She wanted to book our services. She had a specific goal in mind: Hike up Caps Ridge Trail and summit Mt Jefferson. A worthy goal in our opinion. It’s such a pretty hike with just enough challenge in it to make it part fun, part scary. She overcame her trepidation and she got her summit. On lead for this was Redline Guide Eric Hansen. Below is his summary along with some photos.
We had an outstanding day for hiking Mt Jefferson via Caps Ridge Trail. Perfect temps and just a touch of early autumn in the air. This is a rocky but fun route and our guest absolutely crushed it. We picked out way up (and down) the boulders, slab, and talus, summited and enjoyed lunch with clear 360° views. Descent was slightly quicker but not much easier. A very solid day in the northern Presidentials. —Eric H
