After a summer of exploring out west, we’re happy to have Redline Guide Arlette Laan back. She jumped right in with both feet, too, heading out with a guest for a four-day, three-night Presidental Traverse using the AMC’s high huts. They had a great time out there, blessed with some awesome weather. (And there’s more to the story.) What follows is a short summary from Arlette along some photos of the trip.
Our guest wanted a hut-to-hut traverse in the Presidential Range. From Mizpah Hut on day one, to Lakes of the Clouds Hut on day two, and finally Madison Springs Hut on day three. The weather was gorgeous and the rocks were plentiful. On day four we headed down and rejoiced at the sight of dirt between the rocks. —Arlette
And there’s more to the story…

Arlette ran into two ladies over by Thunderstorm Junction that could use a little assistance. After making sure our guest was safe and sound at the hut, Arlette went back to help the ladies out with their plan. This epitomizes the selflessness professional. What a fine reflection of her character.
