We’re entering into the season where people, hikers, are reaching out looking to up their game. One way this is accomplished is to take our Wilderness Navigation Course so as to become one with tools we’re required to carry. The reasons for this do vary a lot from those who simply want to better know their stuff in the general sense when hiking on the normal hiking trails in the White Mountain National Forest to those who want to travel wherever they want, including all that green space between the red lines on our maps. As we note in the class: “This is a new kind of freedom.” In the case of this single student taught by Redline Guide Mike Cherim, the objective moving forward was the New Hampshire Hundred Highest — a pursuit where bushwhacking is certainly required. Here are a few photos of the day.
