Guides are often hired because the clients (we call them guests) have a lack of experience. In other times quite the opposite is true. Some folks just know and value what a guide brings to the table — based on years of their personal experiences. In this case the couple had time in their lives to gain experience hiking in Italy and Europe — once even becoming disoriented in the Dolomites (something Redline Guiding owner Mike Cherim can relate to). Redline Guide Brian Wasiewski, who led this hike, noted that this couple from Rhode Island hoped to increase their confidence, also expressing interest in some of our educational programs like Wilderness Navigation.
Brian also reported some other highlights:
- Taking on the 3013′ Mt Parker (one of the 52WAV) the couple ended up hiking more miles than they expected but felt great for it!
- They got to see another side of one of our guides as Chase Hall was also out there participating on trail clean up (see photo, inset).
