Yes, we coined a new word: Springier (adj.) more spring-like; conversely, also less winter-like
. In any case, we can call it perfection because that what it seems like. And based on feedback from Redline Guide Chase Hall, perfection is apt. The following words and photos should lend support to this bold claim.
It was a fun hike up Mt Moosilauke today with a repeat guest. The trail was starting to show off a stable monorail. Snowshoes stayed in the car but spikes were used coming down for better traction.
Walking on Gorge Brook Trail was fantastic. Hiking up to summit was great. The trees were dry and the sky was blue. Looking up to the sky today was so cool. Seeing the blue and the green trees contrasting just gives you that extra push to get to summit to see the views. The views on summit were incredible. Coming back down was a different story the sun was beating on the snow all afternoon starting to melt and causing some slips and falls nothing serious but spikes were used to help with better traction.
We were in our base layers the whole time hiking up to alpine zone, once we reached it we put on an extra layer and continued to summit where we were met head on with the gusty winds from the northwest. We took our summit photos and took in the 360-degree views of one of the best summits in the White Mountains. A few minutes later we started our journey back to our cars. —Chase
