Several guests have come to us over the years looking for some help getting them up to speed on certain topics related to thru-hiking the Pacific Crest Trail (PCT). In particular are our River Crossing Skills and Basic Mountaineering courses. This day was no different as we taught both half day courses back-to-back (charging as a full day versus two half days). Leading both classes was Redline Guide Mike Cherim. Before we get to the photos, we’d like to make a happy shout-out to our friends at the Black Mountain Ski Area in Jackson, NH, for kindly allowing us to use their mountain and its snow. Thanks to their kindness we are able to offer these courses later in the season without climbing to a higher elevations looking for snow or, worse, throwing in the towel on the season altogether.
