Slogging Up Central Gully

Due to scheduling, weather, and other considerations, we ended up leading our guest up Central Gully in Huntington Ravine in the dark. Redline Guide Debra McCown reported that they got on trail at 3:45AM, topped out of the ravine by 10AM, and made it back to the trailhead by 1PM. If these numbers make it seem like it took a long time, it did, but we should add that while it was a “freaking gorgeous day, the snow conditions were horrendous.” She added that the ascent was a “deep, soft slog due to the warm temps.” This was especially true once the sun rose, she noted. “Slogging through that snow ate up the time we would’ve spent going to the summit.” That said, this trip wasn’t so much about summiting but more about the climb itself. What a great adventure! Check out these cool photos…

Great job, Debra, and t our guest we hope you enjoyed this experience and thank you for reaching out to Redline Guiding.
