This is what one new guest wanted, specifically asking for Redline Guide Dominic Torro to show him some new terrain. He had a gift certificate from his wife, she knowing his passion for the mountains and trying new things. In this case he wanted some new backcountry lines to ski. Initially he hoped for an east-facing line off of Franconia Ridge (think: Lincoln Slide), but after going back and forth with Dominic the week prior it was decided to head into Tuckerman Ravine. This is something our guest had done before having hit it on multiple spring tours. So while on the surface there seemed to be no difference, new experiences did occur on multiple levels. Specifically this would be a winter tour and not a spring one. Moreover, Dominic introduced him to lines that he hadn’t yet done, and lastly he finally got to try out some actual touring gear. Something he appreciated, especially on the uphill. What follows are a few photos of the day.
