A couple of brothers, one from New Jersey and one from Massachusetts, reached out looking to get on the schedule for our Two-Day Winter Mt Washington Program. We were able to put them on for 2/20 and 2/21. Travel logistics really impacted day one, however. They were going to reach us in the afternoon instead of in the morning as is typical. No problem, though, Redline Guide Debra McCown was able to flip the day. Instead of starting with Winter Skills, she started with Mountaineering Skills, then brought the class indoors well into the evening to complete the training. Not the standard formula but it worked just fine. And on day two the brothers conquered the notorious snow-covered Rock Pile: Mt Washington. What follows are photos from both days featuring crazy-awesome weather.
