Today was a special day in the mountains! One of accomplishment and celebration. Today Redline Guide Chase Hall led our oft-returning Gridder up Mt Garfield. For our guest this was peak 476. Since 48 (peaks) times 12 (months) equals 576, reaching 476 means our guest only has 100 summits to go! What follows is a summary by Chase along with some photos.
My guest reached yet another milestone achievement in his Grid project. Today, on Mount Garfield, my guest crossed off peak number 476. He has 100 summits left in his Grid. I couldn’t be more proud of the determination that he has shown to reach this milestone. It was the windiest Garfield summit that I had ever been on and that’s saying something because Garfield is one of my favorite peaks. I’ve had socked-in days, wet days, snowy days, and sunny days. And today was the windiest. I was holding onto that concrete tower base ‘play pen’ pretty tight during some of the stronger gusts. —Chase
