A couple reached out asking if we could supply a guide for a half day hike the very next day. While sometimes waiting until the last minute creates an impossible situation, we were able to make it happen — provided they were okay with Redline Guide (and JP) Mike Cherim performing a mountain wedding while they relaxed on the lookout ledges of Iron Mountain (now back on the 52WAV list). Based on fitness, age, etc., we felt this would be a good choice for their first real mountain hike. And it was. The entire hike was a net positive. The level of effort and resulting rewards, the amazing views on trail and from the ledges, the friendly people we ran into along the way, the delightful wedding couple themselves, the timing of it all, the amazing weather… well, the works. As far an first mountains go, this one was a hit. “We will be back!”
