From Cali to Bliss

A couple from California reached out wanting to hike Mt Washington but they weren’t without some concerns. Namely weather, which on Mt Washington, thanks to its reputation, is pretty normal and understandable. They wanted to know about our policies, the forecast, and some of the what-ifs. We calmly replied, answered their questions, addressed their concerns, lessened their trepidation, linked our policies, and shared one of our in-house long-term forecasting tools. A few questions remained such as concerns about the Government shutdown, would that have an effect, and if there was water on the mountain, etc. With questions answered, favorable conditions on the horizon, the couple made the flight.

Less than a week later, on an amazing day, they summited the mountain under the watchful eye of Redline Guide Chase Hall. As it turned out they had a great time, though found it to be challenging, especially the descent, but they did it! Often times in these re-cap posts we offer a summary from the guide. This time, however, we wanted to share the words of our guests.

It turned out to be an amazing day to do the hike. Thanks for suggesting this day. Even though our legs are sore, we had a great hike and enjoyed the scenery around Mt Washington. We could have taken another 1000 to 2000 of climbing up instead of coming down on those rocks. We felt this was the hardest on our shorter legs compared to other hikes we have done — and being cautious due to our age did not help. We met Chase at 7:10am, started hiking at 7:30am and finished at 6pm. We took more time to come down. —Guest

Awesome job all! To our guests, congrats and thanks for seeing it though, summiting, and for choosing Redline Guiding!
