A large commercial real estate company reached out looking for a hiking guide up Mt Washington. They wanted to celebrate a generous $10,000.00 gift to the Mass Down Syndrome Congress and this seemed like a good way to go about it. They requested a somewhat common (as of late) one-way trip; their plan was to descend via the Cog Railway. The group was rather large and required at least two guides (our rule, not theirs). Due to a pretty busy September schedule, however, getting two guides on it was tough, but we did it. We had to call out the big guns (kidding). On assignment for this cool gig were Redline Guides Jamie Leahy and Mike Cherim — which they both enjoyed, having guided together in the past, prior to the founding of Redline Guiding. The initial plan was to hike up Jewell Trail. We suggested, however, that they try the Ammonoosuc Ravine Trail citing that while it is a bit more technical and challenging, it’s a great trail, it’s shorter, and offers a lot to see and experience. Plus it’s just plain old fun. They decided to follow our lead give it a try. If there were any regrets, whatsoever, we didn’t notice. Here are some photos of the amazing day we all had… cool, windy, foggy, sunny: Something for everyone!
