A couple of returning guests from New York City reached out wanting to hike Mt Eisenhower (one of those 4ks). A simple out-and-back on Edmand’s Path as it turned out. They requested one of their two go-to guides. In this case it was Redline Guide Chase Hall up to bat. They had a spectacular day complete with a little undercast action — a perfect day for it. What follows are some words and photos from Chase…
A returning guest came back and summited her 13th four thousand footer: Mount Eisenhower was the mountain on this day and it was just the one summit. We decided to take Edmand’s Path up. We met early to beat the crowds and enjoyed a nice, chill 3.3 mile hike up to the summit. What was awaiting on top was an epic undercast. The wind was blowing in some clouds and you could see Jefferson, Washington, Monroe, and Clay, but nothing lower. The views were amazing. What an experience it is to share with my guest an opportunity to take in a good undercast show at 4,763′. —Chase
