Ammo Up, Cog Walk Down

We had a brother-sister duo looking for a Mt Washington guide. They also wanted some great weather. We delivered on both counts. The team was led by Redline Guide Gregg Ludvigson and the September weather was awesome. Cool enough to help you get your dose of A/C, while at the same time feeling, and savoring, the warming effects of the sun. Now for Gregg’s summary and photos.

I couldn’t have requested a better day for a hike up to Mt Washington for our guests. The weather started out a little chilly, but once we were moving along at a pretty good pace, we warmed up fast. We stopped a few times to shed heavier outer layers, and dropped more layers for the push to the summit when we stopped at the Lakes of the Clouds hut.

After a nice lunch break and some pictures at the summit, the descent options were discussed. The guests were aiming to be down early enough so they could make the trip over to Montpelier (Vermont), and then up to Burlington before it got too late. We decided to take the road next to the Cog Railway down to save some time and stay in the sun, complete with great views, all the way to the bottom. —Gregg

Great job, Gregg, and to our guests, well done, and thank you for adventuring with Redline Guiding!
