A returning guest, a grandmother, wanted us to take her three grandsons, ages 19, 15, and 11, on an exciting hike, but nothing too long or too grueling. At first the Baldface Circle Loop was floated, but this was before the 11 year old joined, after which it was decided Caps Ridge Trail to the summit of Mt Jefferson — our third highest peak at 5713′ — would be the best choice. As it turned out, it was perfect. Scrambles, views, rich rewards, this hike has it all. Leading the adventure was Redline Guide Debra McCown. Here are some photos of the day.
