A classic Terrifying 25 loop is to take on Sphinx Trail (down) and Six Husband Trail (up). Most of the time the up part happens first, as is logical if getting to the action via the Great Gulf (leaving from Route 16 in Pinkham Notch and crossing a Wilderness bridge that is decommissioned right now). But it’s not always the case. Thinking outside the box, it’s arguably even more fun doing this loop from the west by ascending Caps Ridge Trail (also on the T-25 list), heading south towards Sphinx Col, and starting the loop from there.
