Full Moon on Franconia Ridge

Join Us for a FULL MOON Traverse Across the Franconia Ridge!

Craving adventure? If so, we have something wicked cool for you to try. Join us for a Franconia Ridge Traverse (Northern Half) during the Full Moon in August. The entire lunar cycle is referred to as the Sturgeon Moon and for this bright sky tour we will see it in its final phase (with a full moon allowing for great landscape detail). Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

What is the plan if the weather is inclement?
There is a bit of a gamble when joining this type of trip as there’s never a clear-skies guarantee. That said, if the weather seems dangerous we would pivot to doing something less exposed, less dangerous, while still offering an exciting night experience.
What’s the plan regarding transportation?
This trip starts and ends at the same trailhead simplifying transportation concerns. Do note that the trailhead is accessibile to north- and south-bound drivers. Look for “Lafayette Place Campground” exit if southbound or “Trailhead” sign if northbound. Call us if unclear.
Will I need any specialty gear for this event?
In addition to the proper warm and protective layers plus hat and gloves, food, and about two liters of water, speciality gear needed will include a good headlamp with spare batteries (or a second headlamp), plus trekking poles, especially if it’s windy.
I am interested in this but I want a private trip?
No problem. We can set this up this type of trip as a private tour with your own dedicated guide. This can be on the same date or on another applicable date per your choosing though bulk pricing won’t be available unless you have your own group of four or more.
