The notorious Mount Washington is known to be the “home of the world’s worst weather.” And often times — most of the time, actually — it lives up to its reputation, especially in the winter and spring. The weather up there offers brutal cold, extreme winds, and lots of snow and rime ice. Read about it here. On other days, however, it’s a real gem. And on rare days, it’s better than those gems. This trip led by Redline Guide Chase Hall was one of those amazing days. The photos that follow, while gorgeous, fall short of just how amazing and unusual it was. According the weather records the high pressure crested just past noon and during that time the temps were around 55°F with light 10-15mph breezes. In addition to this great weather, our guest thought Chase was great, she enjoyed seeing the Cog’s passengers disembarking, and thought the helicopter bringing food up to the Lakes of the Clouds hut, sortie after sortie, was neat.
