The Twins and Galehead

Another day of chipping away at the Grid — hiking all 48 4000-footers each month — brought one of our oft-returning guests three peaks closer to the end of his very long tunnel: North Twin, South Twin, and Galehead. Much of this progress process has been under the watchful eye of Redline Guide Chase Hall. Chase is particularly qualified to lead these trips as he has completed the Grid for himself. What a fun adventure. What follows is a short sugary from Chase along with some photos of the day.

Gale River Road to the Trailhead was open so we dropped our cars at the Trailhead. Haystack Gate is still closed, though. The ascent up North Twin Trail was in excellent conditions. 97% of the snow is gone. Only some small chunks remain which will be melted this weekend. We got all our summits done and on the walk out on Gale River Trail we got caught in a rain cloud and got dumped on with fresh rain. It was pretty refreshing and happened on the way down so I was pretty happy to get these peaks done with my guest. —Chase

Well done, Chase, and congratulations to our guest making progress on this continued project!
