Owlie Again

Which of the 4000-footers are the least popular? Some will say Hale, others will say Waumbek or Tecumseh. And many, of course, will state that Owls Head is the hated one, exclaiming that it’s a “slog” to get there. Others will claim it’s a long and not unpleasant walk in the woods proving it is a matter of perspective and that can be the result of many factors like the weather, for example. If it’s raining, or really cold and windy, for instance, it can negatively impact the overall experience. The company one keeps can also play a role. In any case, if hiking all those mountains every month of the year, or hiking the “GRID” as they say, is what you’re up to you have to make the “slog” twelve times so one might experience all of it, the good and the bad. For one oft-returning guest working on this list, this most recent hike was the cold and windy version. But they got it done getting that much closer to the finish line. On point for this trip, per the norm for this guest, Redline Guide Chase Hall was on the job. What follows are a few photos of their cold and windy day.

Great job, team. You’re one step closer. Thanks for continuing this wild adventure with Redline Guiding!
