Everest Base Camp ā€“ 2025

Join Us for the Trip of a Lifetime — Trek to Everest Base Camp (EBC)

As is very well known, Mount Everest, at 8,848m/29,031′ is the tallest mountain in the world and its location in the Himalayas is quite remote. To climb it involves first getting to it and that takes about a week of hiking passing through arguably some of the most jaw-dropping beautiful countryside in the world. For many people, doing just that is in itself an epic journey. Now having connections in that part of the world has afforded us an opportunity to offer you access to this trip. Do note that this is an adventure nearly anyone can do thanks to the incredible guides and porters. What follows are all of the details you need to know to undertake this adventure.

Trip Itinerary

  • DAY 1: Arrival at the Nepal Airport in Kathmandu (1350m/4429ft) There you will be picked up by our in-country organizer and taken to your hotel where you will be expected by the staff, fed, and put up for the night. Our guide will meet you at the hotel.
  • DAY 2: Get picked up at your hotel and driven back to the airport then fly 25-30 minutes to Lukla in a prop plane. The airport there is infamous but take trust in the pilots who land and take off from this tiny runway all the time. Upon landing you will meet your porters (one for every two people) and your guides (one for every four people) then begin an 8km/5mi, 3-4 hour trek making your way to Phakding (2610m/8563ft), descending 144m/472ft. Your party will be expected. They will prepare a meal and provide a place to sleep.
  • DAY 3: After the morning meal you’ll continue on making your way for 6-7 hours hiking a distance of 11km/7mi to Namche (3540m/11614ft). You’ll ascend 794m/2605ft. Your party will be expected. They will prepare a meal and provide a place to sleep.
  • DAY 4: After the morning meal you’ll continue on making your way for 3-4 hours hiking a distance of 2km/1mi to the Everest View Hotel (3880m/12729ft). You’ll ascend 430m/1411ft and descend the same this day. Your party will be expected. They will prepare a meal and provide a place to sleep.
  • DAY 5: After the morning meal you’ll continue on making your way for 5-6 hours hiking a distance of 10km/6mi to the Tengboche (3870m/12697ft). You’ll ascend 630m/2067ft but take back 320m/1050ft this day. Your party will be expected. They will prepare a meal and provide a place to sleep.
  • DAY 6: After the morning meal you’ll continue on making your way for 6-7 hours hiking a distance of 11km/7mi to Dingboche (4410m/14468ft). You’ll ascend this day adding 610m/2001ft. Your party will be expected. They will prepare a meal and provide a place to sleep.

Your party will be expected. They will prepare a meal and provide a place to sleep.
  • DAY 8: Another day of climbing. After the morning meal you’ll continue on making your way for 5-6 hours hiking a distance of 8km/5mi to the Lobuche (3870m/12697ft). You’ll ascend 500m/1640ft this day. Your party will be expected. They will prepare a meal and provide a place to sleep.
  • DAY 9: Finally! After the morning meal you’ll continue on making your way for 7-8 hours hiking a distance of only 15km/9mi all the while ascending 470m/1542ft to Gorak Shep. And on this day of you recoup some of the elevation loss, heading back up to 250m/820ft. You will spend the night in Lukla at a hotel. As usual your party will be expected. The hotel will prepare a meal and provide your overnight accommodations.
  • DAY 14: On this day you’ll be brought to the airport with the short runway, hook up with that prop plane again, and get launched 25-30 minutes back the airport and first hotel in Kathmandu (1350m/4429ft).
  • DAY 15: Unless you have decided to extend your visit, after the morning meal you’ll be picked up again and driven to the airport to board a jet and fly back home.
