Everest Base Camp – 2026

Join Us for the Trip of a Lifetime — Trek to Everest Base Camp (EBC)

As is very well known, Mount Everest, at 8,848m/29,031′ is the tallest mountain in the world and its location in the Himalayas is quite remote. To climb it involves first getting to it and that takes about a week of hiking passing through arguably some of the most jaw-dropping beautiful countryside in the world. For many people, doing just that is in itself an epic journey. Now having connections in that part of the world has afforded us an opportunity to offer you access to this trip. Do note that this is an adventure nearly anyone can do thanks to the incredible guides and porters. What follows are all of the details you need to know to undertake this adventure.

Trip Itinerary

  • DAY 1: Arrival at the Nepal Airport in Kathmandu (1350m/4429ft) There you will be picked up by our in-country organizer and taken to your hotel/B&B where you will be expected by the staff and put up for two nights.
  • DAY 2: Stay in Kathmandu (1350m/4429ft) to explore, get rid of jet lag, and to rest and acclimatize.
  • DAY 3: Get picked up at your hotel/B&B and driven to the airport in Ramechap then fly 25-30 mins to Lukla in a prop plane. The airport there is infamous but take trust in the pilots who land and take off from this tiny runway all the time. Upon landing you will meet your porters (one for every two people) and your guides (one for every four people) then begin an 8km/5mi, 3-4 hour trek making your way to Phakding (2610m/8563ft), descending 144m/472ft. Your party will be expected. They’ll provide a place to sleep.
  • DAY 4: After the morning meal you’ll continue on making your way for 6-7 hours hiking a distance of 11km/7mi to Namche (3540m/11614ft). You’ll ascend 794m/2605ft.
  • DAY 5: After the morning meal you’ll continue on making your way for 3-4 hours hiking a distance of 2km/1mi to the Everest View Hotel (3880m/12729ft). You’ll ascend 430m/1411ft and descend the same this day. You’ll actually stay at a nearby Everest View Ridge.
  • DAY 6: After the morning meal you’ll continue on making your way for 5-6 hours hiking a distance of 10km/6mi to the Tengboche (3870m/12697ft). You’ll ascend 630m/2067ft but take back 320m/1050ft this day.
  • DAY 7: After the morning meal you’ll continue on making your way for 6-7 hours hiking a distance of 11km/7mi to Dingboche (4410m/14468ft). You’ll ascend this day adding 610m/2001ft.
  • DAY 8: After the morning meal you’ll continue on making your way for 4-5 hours hiking a distance of only 3km/2mi all the while ascending 670m/2198ft to Nagkarsyang Peak (5080m/16667ft) then return to Dingboche (4410m/14468ft).
  • DAY 9: Another day of climbing. After the morning meal you’ll continue on making your way for 5-6 hours hiking a distance of 8km/5mi to the Lobuche (3870m/12697ft). You’ll ascend 500m/1640ft this day. Your party will be expected.
  • DAY 10: Finally! After the morning meal you’ll continue on making your way for 7-8 hours hiking a distance of only 15km/9mi all the while ascending 470m/1542ft to Gorak Shep. There you will have lunch, drop some gear and ultimately head to Everest Base Camp (5364m/17598ft). After visiting EBC you’ll return to Gorak Shep.
  • DAY 11: After the morning meal you’ll trek to Pheriche via the 5550m/18000ft Kalapattar. The hike is only 2km/1mi but ascends 400m/1312ft then drops back down 1340m/4396ft. Upon completion your party will be expected. They will prepare a meal and provide a place to sleep. Summiting Kalapattar is an option and requires a very early morning. Not doing it removes that extra the distance and elevation gain.
  • DAY 12: After the morning meal you’ll start hiking 6-7 hours covering a distance of 20km/12mi back to Namche (3540m/11614ft). You’ll ascend 370m/1214ft on this hike but then drop 960m/3150ft. It is likely that you will enjoy a variation on this choosing a shorter route with better views, but this is to be determined on-scene by your guide.
  • DAY 13: After the morning meal you’ll continue on making your way for 4-5 hours hiking a distance of 11km/7mi on the way to Phakding (2610m/8563ft). This day is all descent dropping some 794m/2605ft.
  • DAY 14: After the morning meal you’ll continue on making your way for 3-4 hours hiking a distance of 8km/5mi on the way back to Lukla (4840m/15879ft). And on this day of you recoup some of the elevation loss, heading back up to 250m/820ft. You will spend the night in Lukla at a hotel/B&B.
  • DAY 15: On this day you’ll be brought to the airport with the short runway, hook up with that prop plane again, and get launched 25-30 minutes back the airport and first hotel/B&B in Kathmandu (1350m/4429ft).
  • DAY 16: Stay in Kathmandu (1350m/4429ft) to rest/recover, celebrate the trip, and explore.
  • DAY 17: Unless you have decided to extend your visit so as to see more sights and immerse yourself in the local culture, after the morning meal you’ll be picked up again and driven to the airport to board a jet and fly back home.
