As we’ve done in the warmer months, we offered the Hiking Buddies Non-Profit Group a special Hiking Intro Course — with this one being in winter (even though technically we haven’t entered that season yet). As has been the case other times we’ve done this, the class went off without a hitch, everyone enjoyed themselves, and more importantly, a lot was learned. This full day class began in the classroom and was taken to the field, as they say, in the afternoon. There the group hiked a small mountain using some of what they learned inside and the class was introduced to some new material. The students’ confidence grew and the end result is they will be safer and happier as they venture forth. Leading this class was Redline Guides Mike Cherim and Hayley LaPointe, both given the opportunity to offer their own perspectives. Below are some photos of the afternoon portion.
