Venturing into the Cascades and the Alps will be an experience and our guests plan to take on Mont Blanc in August. From us they just wanted a little training. Redline Guide Pat Ferland spent a day-and-a-half with them going over mountaineering and glacier skills.
[…] We went over to Black Mountain Ski Area in Jackson to work on our glacier travels skills, walking as a team, communication during a belay with Prusiks, and then in the afternoon we moved onto crevasse rescue with some haul systems for one person and team skills. Everybody had a blast playing in the snow big thanks to Greg L for coming out with us in the afternoon and helping us by being a weight on the sled so the group could practice hauling somebody uphill. Everybody had smiles and were very enthusiastic for their summer goals from the Cascades to the French Alps and Mont Blanc —Pat
