Activity Description

Running online classes was never our intention, but you know what they say about necessity being the mother of invention. It’s true. Mid-way through March of 2020 we shuttered our doors as we slipped involuntarily into a life and death battle with the coronavirus. We’d explain more, but everyone on earth will understand already as everyone on earth was wrapped up in the fight as well during this pandemic.

Activity Offerings

Available at anytime, to anyone in the entire world, we are happy to present virtual courses on the following subjects:

These virtual courses are being offered as half-day events lasting 3-4 hours (expect Wilderness Navigation, however, and any custom content to run overtime). Like all of our other educational programs, our private/custom and hosted group courses may be custom-tailored to meet your wants and needs so please include any special objectives or learning desires you may have, if applicable, in the comments box of our Simplified Virtual Course Registration Form (below).

What to Expect

Our courses will be run on teleconferencing software or platforms such as Google Meet (our default), Facetime, Messenger, Zoom, etc. To participate, you will need the agreed upon application/program installed on your device, have your account already set up and confirmed, and have a good Internet connection. A pair of pants, however, is optional, as always — oh, the joys of virtual.

      The Suunto A-10 is the entry-level magnetic baseplate compass we teach with. Manual declination setting, horizontal and vertical orienting lines, and much more. This is the perfect starter compass and all you ever really need.

      Suunto A-30 Compass

      The Suunto A-30 magnetic baseplate compass offers users the same features as the entry-level A-10, but also adds extra baseplate length for more accurate and easier field plotting, a magnifier, and higher visibity features for easier reading.
