Mahoosuc Notch… Done

They had spent fifteen days together in July hiking all of the Appalachian Trail (AT) in New Hampshire. In that time they became friends, and hiked some more. But one more professional gig remained on the table for Redline Guide Arlette Laan and our guest: the Mahoosuc Notch. Reportedly the “toughest mile on the AT” — though some say the most fun — the Mahoosuc Notch was the hanging chad of their prior effort. It was unfinished business. Granted, they hiked all of the AT through New Hampshire, but this segment of their original plan was yet to be fulfilled.

You thought we would forget about you?!

Arlette’s guiding includes such services as rock lifting.

What an interesting trail.

Did we really call it a “trail?”

Remember the person who thought the Webster-Jackson Trail was in bad shape? We wonder what they’d think of this one.

They say “the Notch is a kick in the crotch, but it is the Arm that does the harm” (referring to the steep Mahoosuc Arm).

Old Spec — a Maine 4000-foster — is nearly done.

Congratulations… done is down, but for now they rejoice.

Well done team for taking care of unfinished business. We are grateful you chose Redline Guiding as your companion to adventure.
