Summit Exploration

If they were fast enough hikers Redline Guide Jeffrey Shutak said he’d offer plenty of time for them to take in the summit of the tallest of the New Hampshire 4000 footers, namely Mount Washington — home to some awesome weather on this particular day. They were strong so Jeffrey offered them a full hour to mill about and explore some of what the summit has to offer, even sampling some of the costly grub. They ascended via the Ammonoosuc Ravine Trail and Crawford Path. On the exit they opted for Gulfside to Jewel Trail to create a fine loop. There’s not a lot to tell here, the hike was uneventful and the weather as fine as can be. These photos should help showcase the tour.

Hiking the Ammo is a pleasure.

Gem Pool is a polished gem.

The Gorge is another gem, though a little less polished.

Before long they reach the ridge. It’s hard to take the warning seriously on such a nice day. But we do.

They press hard gaining quickly on the Northeast’s tallest and most prominent mountain summit.

Congratulations on the summit. At 6288’/1917m, it’s definitely not the farm.

Looking back as they approach Jewel Trail for the exit.

Great lead, Jeffrey, and congratulations to the whole team for the summit. Thanks for choosing Redline Guiding.
